DJ Biskit's "Good Vibrations" party is building quite a resume' at the Street Folks cafe on Liberty Road. It boasts a plethora of talented Baltimore dj's that includes 3 past or present Basement Boys. They've had dj Technics, KW Griff, DJ Spen (2times), Thommy Davis, DJ Biskit, DJ Oji(B.I.T.S.), and on March 7th DJ Karizma. On this night the crowd was already warmed up when Karizma came on so he didn't have to waste time getting into his style. Geared up with a Dolce and Gobanna t-shirt, Karizma shows why he was in the Basement Boys. He set up his cd mixer and brought the party into dj'ing of the 21st century and proceeded to get the die hard House heads screaming on the dance floor. His 2nd song was a classic from last year as Blaze's "Brand new day" was feeling so good I wish I could have heard it for 20 minutes. Karizma rocked what looked like 90% of his set with cd's, which is probably how the future will look. With this style, a dj can crank high powered House tracks that may haven't been pressed for vinyl yet. Like the songs from my favorite cd right now "My Way"(b-sOuL). The only complaint I have is that Karizma made me show my age because by the time Biskit came on my feet were hurting. I could only watch and tap my feet. Karizma can be heard at the monthly "Ba$emint" party at the Redwood Trust and every Thursday at the Sky Lounge in the Federal Hill area. We also want to tell you that Karizma will be a resident dj with the BBC and presents new releases and "songs that you forgot about" tracks.
