Basement Boys 15yr.
Anniversary cd release party @ the Dox
Thommy Davis...one of 3 original members of Baltimore's Basement Boys. DJ Neosoul(L) Teddy Douglas emceeing Ultra's pertformance Jay Steinhour of the Basement Boys. Clearly more comfortable behind the scenes, but I guess dj'ing is just like riding a bike. Ultra Nate performing some of the tracks that helped put us on the map. I think I'll start working out again Teddy Douglass hitting the decks last.
Thommy was clearly prepared for this night. A brilliant set. If you missed this party you missed vinyl, cd's, & tshirt give-a-ways. "Rejoicing", "It's Over Now", etc.

This was a very exciting party. The guys clearly
prepared for this night. On a holiday where Balto & DC had tons of House
parties to go to, my loyalties rest in my hometown on this night. I would
have surely missed something special. I wanted to write something exciting but
it seems like the more I give someone there just due the more they get hated on.
So here is a quote from someone at the party that's from the New York/New Jersey
area. "For what it's worth, that party was as
close to the paradise garage experience as I've ever had. Just my two
cents for anyone who never went there. You might as well say you have
now!."
This party was in
promotion of a new 2 disk cd set of tracks from their 15yr history. Very
nice, so pick it up if you can. Club Trax or Midtown Records(downtown
Baltimore) will surely have it when it is officially released.
Founding members of the Basement Boys were Teddy Douglas, Jay Steinhour, and
Thommy Davis. DJ Spen and then DJ Karizma would later join the Basement
Boys. The writer/producer/musician Neal Conway was also a huge part of the
early success of the Basement Boys along with Ultra Nate', Mass Order, and
Crystal Waters. Currently, Teddy Douglas and Jay Steinhour remain in the
Basement Boys label and production house.
