After much confusion on this day because of the snow, Midtown Records was convinced to open up for the listening party despite the mess(snow) that occurred over night. So on Friday(2/7/03) afternoon the Black Books Cafe and DJ Pope scrambled to get emails out and the website updated so our friends would still come. We also had to quickly find refreshments because when we initially cancelled the party we also cancelled the food order. The result was a party with a small family type atmosphere that brought together a lot of Baltimore's House artists/dj's. Of course John Johnson and dj Pope(b-sOuL) were there. But Sheila Ford, Marty St. Michaels, Ultra Nate', Momi & son, dj Oji(just back from Chicago), Henry "Da Man", dj Karizma, Geoffrey C, Donny Burlin, Lynette Smith, Jay Steinhour(Basement Boys), dj Patrick, Jason Din, and other House heads showed up to support the listening party. Although we have pictures I believe dj Patrick got the picture of the year. As we were all preparing to leave he got a shot of all of us and could come out looking like the documentary "Great day in Harlem", where all the great Jazz artists were brought together for interviews and a photograph was taken with all the legends of the time. Thanks to Chip and Zik of Midtown records for hosting this event.
