DJ Karizma @ SKY LOUNGE

The BBC took a trip to the Sky Lounge in Federal Hill on Thursday(4.17.03) to hear dj Karizma of the new Kohesive productions play.  This is his weekly residency on Thursdays.  I usually like to attend parties, take a few pics, and dance a little.  Well I ended up sweating on the dance floor like I was back at the WMC in Miami.  After a little while I just put the damn camera down and just danced.  I am going to go out on the limb and say that I think dj Karizma is one of the banginest  (is that a word?) dj's in Baltimore.  This brotha', armed with a cd mixer plus two turntables, easily has the advantage of mixing two types of media.  Being a producer, like so many dj's now, allows him to remix a song and play it in his set knowing that the crowd won't hear it anywhere else.  Like a bangin' remix of Robin Rush's "Let the Sunshine in".   A couple of weeks ago I got the pleasure of hearing a remix he did of the O'jays' "I love music" that was dedicated to his lovely girlfriend Taneka.  On this night Karizma ripped the hell out of the turntables and those of us that was on the floor proudly screamed and yelled. What would you expect from someone that was in the Basement Boys.  This club has sort of the same vibe as the Red Maple but the lounge area is mostly downstairs and the dance floor is upstairs.  It should also be mentioned that this club has a very nice sound system to me.  The ladies of Baltimore can always find the good parties but fellas' I wish more of you would come down to this spot on Thursdays if you can.  I needed help with the ladies on the dance floor.  I had to remember that I was married when I saw a pretty Latin honey with some tight, faded blue jeans on.  But only half a second Kim☺.   I rolled out at 1:30am because I had to be at work Friday morning.  If you want to hear Karizma in the mix visit Karizma's Korner on this website to hear exclusive mixes of "Unreleased and Forgotten Grooves".  He has one track in the 2nd mix where he is playing the guitar.  So if you're not busy on Thursdays try to visit the Sky Lounge.  The address and number of this club is in our club directory.  It's only a couple of blocks past the Inner Harbor on Cross St(across from the Cross Street Market) and there is no cover charge right now.  The club has a bar downstairs and upstairs with reasonable prices......And of course there is damn good House music.....................See you there!!!!!!!!

You can catch DJ Karizma at the the Redwood Trust on April 27th, Sonar Lounge on May 17,  and the Sky Lounge every Thursday
