True to it's desire to bring Balto heads together with local artists, blackbookscafe.com brings the lovely and sultry Chin-yer to Soul part of the Soul Fiesta.

Talent runs in her family as she is the daughter of the always wonderful Carolyn "Little Black Samba" Victorian. The highlight was a freestyle impromtu vibe she had going on with the musicians and began a session where she spoke about House music.

DJ Karizma went to see "Harriet Tubman" during his set(LOL). Deep House heads know what that means.

Hope filming you documentary of the underground dance scene continues to go well.

 (Soul)   Our presentation this time for the Soul Fiesta has expanded to include all the elements of blackbookscafe.com.  Live music, spoken word/poetry, and the best in House music, with a “latin-fluenced” twist.  This party began at 9pm and was hosted by “Jay Rags” and the lovely “Creation”.  Our featured vocalist for the evening was Baltimore’s(via Jersey) soulful beauty “Chin-yer” laying down the jazzy and Neosoul vocals.  She is a regular at Organic Soul Tuesdays and has already put out her very own “Meditative Soul” cd.  She was supported by a small band of musicians who have been on some of the hottest House/etc. tracks in the area including Wayne “Coop” Cooper, Lorenzo Sands, Jimmie Taylor, Dushawn, & more.  Our featured poet for the evening was the lovely and talented, Soul Fiesta co-host and Morgan State University student “Creation”.  Plus “Jay Rags” reciting “The Music In Me”.

"Only You"                      "Everything Must Change"

(Fiesta)   The 2nd half of the evening exploded into a soulful House music vibe for all the dancers and music lovers out there.  We integrated our themed latin-fluenced sound into the mix to soothe your soul all night from dj Karizma.  There was also another great performance from Baltimore’s Lynette Smith-Dockins.  Some of you may remember her from her energetic performance at the “Collective Minds” House music picnic in Druid Hill Park back in August.
