Wayne Davis' Birthday/Odell's reunion party '03
Well, unlike last year I was not able to get my camera into the Paradox to capture some sights of the party. No cameras allowed. You really should have been there anyway. Wayne played for a good while and it still reminded me of some legendary night from the late 70's or early 80's. From this point on I really don't want to hear anyone saying to me "....but if we could be more like New York" or some other city. We got it right here in Baltimore, especially at the Paradox, at least once a year. All ages were there jackin' their bodies. Myself....well my 36th birthday is October the 18th and you know you're old when someone walks up to you at the Odell's reunion and says, and I quote, "You don't remember me but I grew up with you father. You're John right?" The story here is basically the same as last year.....a Baltimore dance music history lesson with Wayne Davis, Teddy Douglass, & Mookie Brock crankin' out the sounds in the main room and dj Biskit & KW Griff bangin' House in the back. I am so proud of Wayne and the Paradox as far as the look of the club goes. The lighting and sound is spectacular. This is the best club in Baltimore. This Black owned club is beautiful and almost wants me to push everyone to just go down there in droves for "POJI's Groove" no matter what the clientele is on that night. Almost. This is a party that all music lovers should go to. If you don't go out that much this would have given you a chance to see and meet most of the player's from the Baltimore House scene.
See pics and hear sounds from the 2002 party. It was the very first party we covered for this website.
